Alick has been a practising attorney-at-law for four decades and is admitted to the Bars of Dominica, St. Kitts and Nevis, and the British Virgin Islands. He was conferred the rank of Senior Counsel in 2012 in recognition of his longstanding and significant contribution to the legal profession.

He began his public service career as a State Attorney and has also served as Acting Labour Commissioner and Acting Registrar of the High Court of Dominica. Over the course of his career, he has gained significant experience across multiple disciplines of the law and has served as legal adviser to, and as a member of the board of directors of, several substantial entities in Dominica.

Alick has been involved in major civil and commercial matters, including representing Nord France Enterprise in arbitration against Dominica Electricity Services Ltd., resulting in very substantial award to his client. He also represented Cable & Wireless Dominica Ltd. in transactions relating to the acquisition of regional assets, and for First Caribbean International Bank in the acquisition of the local assets of Barclays Bank. He has also acted in significant financial litigation concerning the receivership and liquidation of British Trade and Commerce Bank.

His areas of practice include banking, corporate and commercial law, legislative drafting, offshore financial services, intellectual property, and citizenship by investment matters.
